About me
Hi, I’m Dr. Patricia Keller, founder of Her Path Therapy and EMDR Therapy for Women. I help women who feel stuck in life —whether you’ve tried therapy before and left feeling frustrated or this is your first time and you’re nervous about taking the next step. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know: it’s okay. I’m glad you’re here.
With 20 + years of experience across every level of mental healthcare—from inpatient psychiatric settings to academia, private practice, and life coaching—I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to be stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more—practical, effective techniques designed to help you break free from what’s holding you back.
Many of the women I work with don’t want to spend years in therapy—they want real progress and a way forward. EMDR, in particular, is a powerful tool for those who feel like traditional talk therapy hasn’t worked. Together, we’ll work intentionally, making real progress so you can move forward and start living the life you truly want.
If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and ready for lasting change, let’s get started.

Types of Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of therapy that applies to interventions or approaches based on neurobiological models of trauma processing, which explain how distressing experiences can be reprocessed to promote adaptive emotional integration.
Attachment-based
Attachment-Based Therapy is grounded in attachment theory, which explains how the relationship between a parent and child shapes emotional and relational development. This approach helps clients explore how early bonds influence their sense of safety, connection, and patterns in current relationships.
Coaching
Life coaching is an increasingly popular profession that has no specific licensing or academic requirements. The therapist focuses on helping individuals realize their goals in work and in life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. CBT has been clinically proven to help clients in a relatively short amount of time with a wide range of disorders, including depression and anxiety.
Emotionally Focused
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an approach to therapy that helps clients identify their emotions, learn to explore and experience them, to understand them and then to manage them.
Family Systems
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
Feminist Therapy
Feminist Therapy focuses on empowering clients by exploring how social, cultural, and political systems influence their experiences. It acknowledges the impact of gender, power, and identity, using an intersectional lens to honor the complexity of each person's lived experience.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a method of therapy that works to engage the motivation of clients to change their behavior. Motivational Interviewing is frequently used in cases of problem drinking or mild addictions.
Multicultural Therapy
Multicultural Therapy emphasizes the importance of understanding a client’s cultural background, values, and experiences. It takes an intersectional approach, recognizing how overlapping identities—such as race, gender, class, and sexuality—shape a person’s worldview, mental health, and relationships.
Person-Centered
Person-centered therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions.
Positive Psychology
Unlike traditional psychology that focuses more on the causes and symptoms of mental illnesses and emotional disturbances, positive psychology emphasizes traits, thinking patterns, behaviors, and experiences that are forward-thinking and can help improve the quality of a person's day-to-day life.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis. Like adherents of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapists believe that bringing the unconscious into conscious awareness promotes insight and resolves conflict.
Relational Therapy
Relational Therapy focuses on the healing power of relationships, including the one between client and therapist. It helps clients explore how their relational patterns have been shaped over time, fostering deeper connection, authenticity, and emotional insight.
Solution Focused Brief (SFBT)
Solution-focused therapy, sometimes called "brief therapy," focuses on what clients would like to achieve through therapy rather than on their troubles or mental health issues. The therapist will help the client envision a desirable future, and then map out the small and large changes necessary for the client to undergo to realize their vision.
Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses more on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, and less on weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Trauma-Informed Therapy is an approach that acknowledges how past experiences—especially those involving fear, neglect, or emotional pain—can shape thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. It emphasizes safety, choice, and empowerment, focusing on what happened to you rather than what’s “wrong.” The therapist supports healing by helping you understand your responses with compassion and move at a pace that feels safe and respectful.
